What we collect

When you use our enquiry form, we ask for your name, email address and requirement. You may also give a company name, phone number, cable reference and required quantity. We receive the details you choose to send in subsequent emails or calls. The name, email and requirement fields are needed so we can understand and answer a form enquiry; the other form fields are optional.

Our hosting and security services may process technical information such as your IP address, browser details and the pages requested to deliver and protect the website. Finder searches run in your browser; a search placed in the page address may appear in normal website request records.

Why we use it

• To answer your enquiry, discuss a specification, provide a quotation or take steps towards a supply agreement. We rely on our legitimate interest in handling business enquiries, or on steps requested before entering a contract where applicable.
• To manage an order and our customer relationship. We rely on performance of a contract and, for records we are required to keep, legal obligations.
• To operate the site, prevent spam and protect its security. We rely on our legitimate interest in providing a reliable and secure service.

The enquiry form does not sign you up to a marketing mailing list.

Who receives it

The website form is handled by FormSubmit, which forwards submissions to our HB Cables email account. We use Google Workspace for business email. Website hosting and security providers may handle technical request information. We may share the relevant enquiry details with a manufacturer, supplier or delivery partner when needed to answer your request, prepare a quotation or supply your order. We do not sell your personal information.

FormSubmit says it retains form submissions for 30 days. The email copy received by HB Cables is handled under our own retention approach below.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry correspondence while it is needed to respond and manage any follow-up. If an enquiry becomes an order or an ongoing customer relationship, we may need to keep the relevant correspondence and transaction records for longer for contractual, accounting or legal reasons. We review information against these purposes and delete it when it is no longer needed.

International handling

Our email, form, hosting services and suppliers may process information outside the UK. Where a restricted international transfer applies, we use an applicable UK adequacy arrangement or appropriate transfer safeguards. Contact us if you would like more information about a particular transfer.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, or ask us to restrict its use. You may also have a right to data portability.

You can object to processing based on our legitimate interests by emailing sales@hbcables.com. We will consider the request under data protection law. If you have a concern, please contact us first; you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Cookies and similar technology

We do not currently use advertising or analytics scripts on this website. Services that deliver and protect the site may use essential security technology. If you submit the form, FormSubmit may apply its own anti-spam checks and cookies as part of handling the submission. We will update this notice and request consent where required before adding non-essential tracking to our site.

We will update this page if our website or our handling of enquiries changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
